Ramadan Mubarak everyone!!!

It’s the beautiful month of fasting yet always thinking about what to eat ( i think I’m doing it wrong). Although I didn’t grow up with it, Ramadan has to have Gahwa (Arabic Coffee) available at night as I have dates with it or some other form of dessert. Another item of yumminess that has grown onto me is Tahini (drool), and something I picked up from my inlaws is to dip sticky date into tahini and have my mind blown. Theres a really amazing piece of art that comes with mixing date and tahini and i decided to take this further by eternally combining the two (drama?).

Heres a super easy recipe that brings together amazing ingredients to enjoy with a cup of coffee after you’ve broken your fast, right when you’re craving some kind of sweet. It’s healthy, clean, natural, easy to make and amazing.

All you need are the following 6 ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of soaked (pitted) dates or date paste
  • 6 tbsp tahini
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Sea salt
  • Sesame seeds for coating

  1. Put the dates, tahini, cocoa powder, vanilla, and a pinch of sea salt in a food processor and mix together. For a more salted caramel taste you can add more salt.
  2. Roll the mixture into small balls.
  3. Roll the balls on sesame seeds to coat the ball.
  4. Store in an airtight container and enjoy everyday with a cup of coffee or tea.
